Industrial refrigeration plays a crucial role in sectors such as food processing, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, but is traditionally associated with high energy consumption and significant CO₂ emissions. In this context, eco-efficiency means achieving greater cooling performance with less energy, fewer resources and lower emissions throughout the entire life cycle of the installations.
Decarbonisation primarily requires electrification combined with renewable energy, as well as process optimisation and heat recovery. Digitalisation and smart controls make it possible to dynamically adapt systems to actual cooling demand, helping to avoid peak consumption. In addition, waste heat generated by refrigeration processes can be upgraded and reused for production or heating purposes, significantly improving overall energy efficiency.
